Importing mass games for PAL is still broken

James 5 years ago updated by sales 5 years ago 7

I just spent hours adding my entire collection (for the second time) into the system. But yet again, even when I add 'PAL Playstation', 'PAL Playstation 2' or 'PAL Playstation 3' to the end of the game, it still prioritizes adding the American version instead.

As a serious PAL collector, this is unacceptable and broken. There's no point me using the site.

Also, your website is considered a joke here in my country of Australia by most collectors. Narrowing down by region would be extremely useful. eBay already has the power to do this.

This bug has been fixed now.  You should be able to add "PAL" in any line in the importer and it will import that item as a PAL version.  This only works for PAL Consoles we track (NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS1, PS2, PS3, etc)

+1

Also, for anyone who wants to play devil's advocate and say shit like maybe I should just add them manually, I own thousands of games. It would be impractical.

Thanks for the feedback on importing.  I'll look into why the region consoles aren't being recognized.

When you say "narrowing down by region" are you referring to seeing PAL prices for only Australia?  Instead of combing Euro PAL and Australian PAL into one price?  Or narrowing down something else?

Nope, don't work. When I recently try to import my PAL games (but 10 by 10, to be sure), most of the time, the NTSC version was added, not the PAL… So I have to do it manually… not great when you have thousands of games !

Can you give me some PAL games you tried to add that were imported as the NTSC version?  I can't replicate this in my tests, but if you can give me complete examples I can look into those and fix them.

I don't own NTSC games. Every NTSC game in my collection (there are many) were supposed to be PAL.

Looking through that list all of the ones that were NTSC are games that we don't have in the PAL format yet.  Switch or 3DS or PS4 games that are only released in NTSC (Limited Run Games).  If you added these via the import tool, they would give failures.

I tested it with products like this:

  • zelda breath of wild pal switch
  • animal crossing pal 3ds
  • dark void pal xbox 360

The zelda and animal crossing versions error out without adding anything to the collection because we have no pal switch games or pal 3ds games on the site yet.

Dark Void is added for PAL 360 because we have that on the site.

Based on the age of your collection, you might have imported a bunch of these before we had implemented this fix 6 months ago.  If you tried importing a few of them now as a test, they should import correctly.  You just need to make sure we have PAL versions of that console.  We are working on adding all of them but don't have 3DS, Switch, Xbox One.
