Explicit criteria for CIB

Anonymous 4 weeks ago updated 3 weeks ago 3

It might be useful to have, for each product, a line of text listing what is required for the item to be considered CIB. I'm thinking of something simple such as "CIB: Disc, box, manual, figurine, map." This feature would be particularly useful when reviewing questionable sales of unfamiliar products.

This feature would also permit the eventual integration of different levels of CIB, with additional lines:

CIB: Disc, box, manual, figurine, map.

CIB+: CIB plus cardboard box

CIB-: CIB with either map of figurine missing

Thank you.  I can see that being helpful with special edition items too.  What was originally included.

For our pricing purposes, the only thing required to be CIB is the original game, original box, and original manual (if that exists).  The maps or posters are not required for CIB.  But it would be helpful to note that on the site so people know what was originally included.

I see. I wasn't aware of that. Thanks.

I also think that it would help clarify the situation with certain items such as the GameCube Game Boy Player. I'm sure there are other/better examples out there, but we have entries for Game Boy Player, Game Boy Player [no disc] and Game Boy Player Start-Up Disc in the database. Understandably, there seems to be confusion as to what is a loose or CIB sale of each of these variants. A simple line of text would clarify this and also help tremendously with reviewing some reported sales.
